POSITION DESCRIPTION
The IT and Admin Specialist plays a dual role in ensuring the effective functioning of both the IT infrastructure and administrative facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining a reliable and secure IT environment and ensuring efficient office administration and facilities management. The role requires hands-on technical support, coordination with multiple departments, and proactive problem-solving to support staff, clients, and internal operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
IT Responsibilities:
1. Administer and maintain local servers, including Active Directory, file/print services, user accounts, mailboxes, and data backup/recovery systems.
2. Manage and support network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, ports, patch panels, ADSL lines, and VPN connectivity)
3. Oversee endpoint management including installation, configuration, patching, antivirus, and troubleshooting of desktop hardware and software
4. Monitor and support security systems such as surveillance, alarms, fire detection, and ensure access to recordings when required
5. Support conferencing platforms, remote communication tools, and online exam setups, including technical troubleshooting
6. Provide technical support and training to users for office equipment, communication tools, and productivity applications
7. Maintain and support IT infrastructure in classrooms and training spaces, including computers, smart screens, projectors, printers, and sound systems
8. Monitor and manage IOPS software and scanner to ensure functionality and weekly backups
9. Coordinate with internet/telecom providers and vendors for service delivery, issue resolution, and on-site deployments
10. Monitor systems and logs, diagnose performance issues, and ensure adherence to compliance standards
11. Manage IT procurement, inventory, asset tracking, and lifecycle upgrades in accordance with organizational policies
12. Document IT systems, technical procedures, and ensure knowledge sharing within the team
13. Collaborate with Egypt and Regional IT teams on planning, budgeting, support, and technology initiatives
14. Follow up with maintenance people on general building maintenance issues
15. Follow up on maintenance tickets received by the Operations department. Those tickets vary from air conditions, electricity, door lock issues to following up with the landlord representative on building insulation issues
16. Incumbent will be expected to call the maintenance people and ensure they are following the proper methods to solve the issue
17. Control Amideast mobile phones and USB distribution through a tracking sheet with all the employees' mobile/USB package rates
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field
• 2-3 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 2 years in a similar dual-role (infrastructure and user support)
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure design, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring
• Experience supporting ADSL internet, desktop environments, and IT hardware/software installations
• Proficient in the use and management of security camera systems and enterprise backup tools
• Familiarity with server configurations, Active Directory, and endpoint management systems
• Skilled in the use of conferencing and remote collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
• Knowledge of VPNs, FortiGate firewall, and general cybersecurity principles
• Ability to work independently, multitask under pressure, and communicate clearly with users at all levels
• Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundation, MCTS or equivalent
Administrative Skills:
• Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
• Strong communication skills in both English and Arabic
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Punctual and dependable
Preferred
• CompTIA Network+ Certification.
• CompTIA A+ Certification.
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate).
• TOEIC score of 700 or equivalent.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full-time, temporary, or hybrid basis)
