POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Regional Accountant forms part of the Regional Finance team located in Egypt that supports all Amideast Field Offices in the MENA region across 11 different countries. Working with the Director of Finance, the Regional Accountant will be responsible for labor distributions, bank account reconciliations, vendor set up and assisting field office (FO) accounting staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Support all Amideast field offices located throughout the Middle East and North Africa in all accounting aspects
Provide guidance to field offices on Amideast policies and procedures
Analyze general ledger accounts including but not limited to “Cash accounts, AR accounts with related aging report, AP accounts, prepaids and inventory accounts” for Amideast field offices
Review monthly labor and bank reconciliations, making recommendations for corrections
Handle external audit requests during fiscal year-end audit
Oversee and review the monthly book/ test inventory entries and communicate with FOs regarding discrepancies; ensuring physical counts are done monthly
Handle monthly exchange rate updates, ensuring internal policy is being followed
Maintain and update the severance worksheets, including creating the monthly journal entries; confirm year-end balances with FOs
Handle monthly closing entries
Manage employee set up in Costpoint and set up leave
Assist with employee and project number linking after Initial project set up
Vendor set up and vendor maintenance, ensuring standardization and consistency of the database
Customer set-up and maintenance
Support field office accountants with Costpoint system problem solving
Support FO annual audit and tax review requests
Assist in orientation of new finance staff
Automate and streamline processes to enhance accuracy of data while minimizing manual efforts
Ensure documentation for all processes exists or develop it
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
4 years in a General Accounting capacity, or equivalent experience
Good understanding of common financial reports
Extensive experience using MS Excel
Demonstrated analytical skills
Fluency in English is required (TOEIC score of 700 must be provided)
A solid understanding of accounting principles
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Track record of proven integrity and ethical behavior 
Must pass financial exam
Proactively assist team members to meet goals
Display positive attitude, accountability and willingness to learn
Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with all team members

Preferred
1 year minimum experience using Deltek Costpoint software preferred
CMA or similar certification preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Extensive experience with Excel

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional home or office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office.

Up to 5% business travel may be needed to support Finance in Field Offices as needed.
