POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for accounts receivables, treasury function, billing, account reconciliations, project set up, and analysis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and record all cash receipts, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, properly coded, and supported by appropriate documentation
• Monitor Accounts Receivable (A/R) aging on a regular basis; investigate outstanding and aged balances and coordinate follow-up with clients and Country Offices to support timely collection and resolution
• Reconcile contributions and donations regularly to ensure all receipts are accurately and completely recorded in the accounting system
• Book wire transfers checks, recuring vouchers checks, and other applicable banking transactions in Deltek Costpoint accurately and timely
• Review and process travel expense reports for reimbursement, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, required approvals, and adequate supporting documentation
• Prepare and process customer and project billings in Deltek Costpoint, ensuring invoices are accurate, properly supported, and issued in accordance with applicable contract or agreement requirements
• Manage project setup in Deltek Costpoint in coordination with Contracts and Grants and other relevant departments
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and invoices
• Prepare monthly federal drawdowns sheet and process through PMS in accordance with applicable requirements and required approvals
• Support the monthly and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries for recurring expenses, accruals, deferrals, and other assigned transactions
• Prepare monthly student tax calculations and related accounting entries and supporting documentation for yearly filling
• Assist with the preparation of the annual Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts Report (FBAR) and related supporting schedules
• Support accurate and consistent revenue recognition
• Maintain account and organization linkages in Deltek Costpoint
• Maintain appropriate accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls for assigned functions
• Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies and reconciling items in a timely manner
• Assist with monthly and year-end audit activities
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and enhance data accuracy
• Maintain written procedures and process documentation for assigned accounting functions
• Provide support to the Accounts Payable function and other Finance activities as needed
• Organize, scan, archive, and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with established document retention requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 2 years in an Accounts Receivable capacity/treasury, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of non-profits relative to FASB and GAAP rules
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• A solid understanding of accounting principles
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive and resourceful in a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving abilities


Preferred
• 2 years’ experience using Deltek Costpoint software or other accounting software


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the  remote home office in the MENA Region from a country where Amideast has current operations and legal status..
