ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The AeroSTAR Program is a regional initiative designed to introduce high school youth across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to the world of aviation and aerospace. Through immersive learning, hands-on STEM activities, field visits, and connection with industry professionals, the program empowers young people to explore the careers shaping the future of flight.
AeroSTAR equips youth not only with technical and soft skills, but also with exposure to real industry environments—helping build the region’s future aviation and aerospace talent pipeline.
The program will engage youth, ages 15–18, across five countries: Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates.
Position Summary:
FunCom Trainer of AeroSTAR program will deliver & train participants in 60 hours to students aged 15 to 18. S/He will deliver 40 hours of Fundmental Competencies course of AeroSTAR academy. He will also be accompanying and guiding students of during aviation activities and field trips, for 20 hours. He will be mentoring and guiding the students in their projects related to aviation to compete in the national challenge day.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Tasks, responsibilities and deliveries for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Understand and deliver the developed FunCom material, handouts, and instructional PowerPoint.
Attend and participate in the training/ orientation sessions conducted by the content developer.
Actively prepare for class and interact with the students in a positive and upbeat manner.
Able to deliver soft skills to the students.
Mentor and guide the students in their aviation-related projects
Following up on the students progress over the projects.
Mentor them with constructive feedback on their projects that make them compete in the national challenge day.
Plan and share supplemental materials needed to enhance courses delivery with the content developer.
Follow the designated instructional plan and schedule for the course.
Complete and submit administrative tasks, such as course logs, timesheets, class surveys, and attendance in accordance with the course timeline set by the content developer.
Maintain accurate and up to date attendance records for all classes.
Correct homework, exams, projects, and any other assignments in accordance with the course timeline set by the content developer.
Lead classroom instruction and discussion according to the instructors’ guide and the participants’ guide prepared by the content developer.
Correspond and engage with students and classes through email, whatsapp and messenger applicants as needed.
Assess student progress and achievement through appropriate, varied assessments means; notifying the STEM Program Lead when a student is in jeopardy of not passing a course.
Keep the STEM Program Lead informed of issues related to students and courses that need to be resolved. Provide feedback to the content developer regarding the developed handouts, and instructional PowerPoint.
Organize and archive all material related to the curriculum and final evaluations during the wrap-up period of the program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the STEM field; master's degree in education or engineering or related STEM field preferred.
The background in aviation is an asset.
Experience in delivering soft skills is an asset.
Experience in leading teams in competitions is preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ classroom teaching experience.
Extensive knowledge of the field of STEM in the age group 15-18.
Fluent English proficiency is a must.
Ability to adapt to a new culture and learner needs within a different context.
Ability to work in a team and contribute to overall STEM Center program success.
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
Punctuality and timeliness in record keeping.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create a productive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment with up to 10% business travel as may be needed to support project implementation.
