POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the guidance of and in coordination with the Regional Director for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, the Specialist will provide technical support in designing data collection plans and tools for Amideast programs; follow up with program teams on data collection plans and timelines with necessary check-ins to ensure valid and timely data collection; oversee security procedures for data capturing, entry and storage; and assist with data analysis and aggregation to produce briefs, presentations, and reports. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support MEAL Planning & Standard Practices
Support program teams in the development of logical frameworks, indicators, data collection plans, and timelines
Conduct regular check-ins to ensure implementation of MEAL plans including collection of baselines
Ensure standard data collection forms are timely administered in all Amideast programs and data is uploaded to the shared platform

Support Data Collection, Analysis & Aggregation

Assist in the development of quantitative and qualitative data collection tools including online and mobile tools
Follow up on program data collection, analysis and uploading to shared platforms
Assist in focus group discussion (FGD) facilitation, documentation, and qualitative data analysis
Oversee the quarterly aggregation of participants data by Field Offices (FOs) and provide support when needed
Support reporting on program key performance indicators (KPIs) in light of the aggregated data

Support Amideast Evaluations & Learning
Use valid sampling methods to select evaluation samples from participants databases
Use survey-building platforms to generate online surveys, prepare links and follow up with field offices as needed
Assist in the preparation and tabulation of aggregated data to facilitate the generation of findings, trends and learning insights


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, etc.)
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within international development or humanitarian contexts
Experience developing logic models, output and outcome indicators, data collection plans for programs in different sectors
Strong knowledge of data collection methods and experience in designing quantitative and qualitative data collection tools, including online and mobile data collection tools
Skills in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and reporting on findings
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, plan effectively, and meet deadlines
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office 
Fluent in English and Arabic, with exceptional communication skills 


Preferred
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with remote and cross-cultural teams
Demonstrated interest in advancing education in the international not-for-profit sector
Exceptional communications skills, from writing and editing to speaking/presenting, to team-based problem solving and collaborating
Based in North Africa region (e.g., Tunisia, Morocco) or Egypt

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

Up to 5% business travel may be needed to support MEAL in Field Offices as needed.
