POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a creative, forward-thinking, and organized professional to represent Amideast in the State of Qatar. Based in Doha, you will assist in establishing and overseeing the local operations of Amideast, develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders especially from the business and academic communities, and ensure compliance with local regulations. The position will report to Amideast headquarters, represent the organization at events, and spearhead new business and program initiatives. You will also be responsible for monitoring market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and troubleshooting operational challenges. This position requires a balance of demonstrated strategic thinking, marketing and outreach experience, hands-on program and personnel management skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership and Planning:
• Develop and implement strategies for business growth by creating marketing plans and outreach activities that align with Amideast’s overall mission and objectives in Qatar
• Identify new programming opportunities and areas where the organization can demonstrate its value and relevance to Qatar business, academic, youth, and government sectors
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them

Stakeholder Engagement and Representation:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business, academic, and government officials, partner organizations, donors, and community leaders
• Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events, advocating for its mission and work
• Establish and maintain relationships with government representatives and policymakers to advocate for the organization's goals and ensure compliance with local regulations
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration amongst Amideast’s country office, headquarters, and external stakeholders

Program Management and Operations:
• Overseeing project implementation, as required, to ensure that projects are implemented effectively and efficiently, meeting agreed-upon goals and objectives.
• Managing the country office budget and financial resources, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies
• Oversee administrative, logistical, security, and risk management functions for the country office
• Ensure the country office complies with all relevant local regulations, policies, and procedures

Human Resources Management:
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff, as required. Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and updates on program activities, outcomes, and challenges
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both internally and externally, to share information and build support for the organization's work

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• A minimum of a BA/BS degree in a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Experience working for, or strong knowledge of, non-profit organizations in the international education or development field
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing and sales experience in Qatar
• An established network of active professional contacts in Qatar in the corporate, government, and educational sectors
• Experience developing detailed market analyses and associated business plans
• Dependable team player who can perform regular, detail-oriented duties while also being proactive and offering creative ideas for effective and engaging communication
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Fluency in Arabic is strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from an Amideast office or remote home office (on a hybrid basis).
