POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving Amideast/Egypt’s growth through donor engagement, marketing, customer service, and proposal development. This role leads the grants function by identifying funding opportunities, developing and submitting proposals, and ensuring effective marketing and customer service strategies that support organizational growth.
The Business Development Manager plays a key role in securing financial support for programs and initiatives, managing the full lifecycle of grants and client acquisition, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The position works closely with program teams to align donor interests with organizational priorities and to ensure funded projects are delivered successfully and reported on accurately.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Department Oversight & Planning
• Oversee marketing, customer service, and proposal writing functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and that each department meets its financial targets and KPIs
• Work with senior management to set annual business plans, KPIs, and departmental targets
• Manage budgets and resources efficiently, focusing on maximizing results for fee-based programs
• Coordinate across departments to ensure smooth operations and timely achievement of targets
Donor Relations & Proposal Development
• Identify potential donors, foundations, corporate CSR partners, and relevant funding opportunities
• Collaborate with the proposal writer and program teams to prepare and submit high-quality proposals, concept notes, and technical documents
• Maintain records of proposals, grants, and reporting timelines
• Track ongoing grants to ensure compliance, timely reporting, and scheduled collections
Marketing & Communications
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to strengthen visibility, brand positioning, and program promotion
• Oversee the creation of marketing materials, campaigns, and digital content, including social media
• Monitor marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results
• Support outreach for donor-funded programs to meet enrollment and participation targets
Customer Service Excellence
• Lead efforts to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience
• Set service standards and ensure prompt responses to inquiries across all channels
• Oversee customer feedback collection and use insights to improve operations
• Align customer service activities with marketing and program delivery for a seamless experience
Team Leadership
• Supervise and support departmental staff, providing coaching and performance feedback
• Foster a collaborative, results-oriented work environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Minimum of BA/BS in relevant field
• Minimum of eight years’ experience with grants, grants writing, and grants management
• Proven track record of raising money from foundation and government sources
• Program development experience required
• Previous experience with non-profit fundraising
• Excellent Experience with proposal writing, institutional donor engagement, marketing and customer service
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent English language proficiency and writing skills
• Experience with budget development and monitoring
• Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of contracts and agreements is required
Preferred
• Master’s degree
• Minimum TOEIC score of 950 or equivalent
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a temporary or hybrid basis).

Up to 5% business travel may be needed to support as needed.
