POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Social Media Specialist is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and engaging. This professional develops and implements effective communication strategies, manages public relations, creates content for various platforms, and ensures seamless internal communication. They also play a critical role in crisis management, responding to public issues promptly and effectively. Monitoring and analytics form a key part of their role, assessing the effectiveness of communication strategies and making necessary adjustments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for developing effective communication strategies , managing the company's image and reputation
- Develop communication strategies that align with Amideast mission and vision and promote our products and service portfolios
- Responsible for managing public relationships with media personnel
- Prepare press releases and promotional materials and oversee Amideast product/program launches and promote Amideast products and services
- Oversee content creation for websites, newsletters, and marketing materials to ensure all content aligns with the Amideast’s mission, brand, and goals
- Responsible for monitoring Amideast's online presence, media coverage, and educational trends
- Use analytics tools to measure the success of communication strategies and make improvements as needed to ensure all is aligned with Amideast mission and vision and ensure products and services promotion
- Lead Amideast graphic designers and content creators, and oversee their tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring the team meets Amideast marketing strategy and goals
- Participate in the hiring of marketing assistants, content creators, and graphic designers
- Ensure smooth operations of marketing daily activities
- Contribute to the performance appraisal and conduct review of reporting employees and ICs
- Issue the independent contractor monthly pay and follow up with finance for due payments
- Social Media Management:
- Develop and maintain a monthly/quarterly social media calendar, ensuring timely and relevant content aligned with organizational goals.
- Schedule posts across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X) in English and Arabic.
- Monitor and moderate social media channels (comments, messages, reviews) in both English and Arabic, ensuring brand consistency and professional engagement.
- Analyze performance metrics using Meta Analytics and adjust strategies to optimize reach and engagement.
- Campaign & Event Support:
- Assist in planning, setting up, and executing marketing events (workshops, fairs, webinars), including logistical coordination and on-site attendance.
- Coordinate video and photo shoots for events, promotional materials, or campaigns, liaising with vendors and internal teams.
- Provide post-campaign reports, summarizing KPIs, audience engagement, and ROI to inform future strategies.
- Data Management & Research:
- Maintain and update the marketing database through accurate data entry, ensuring records are current and accessible.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities to support targeted marketing initiatives.
- Administrative Coordination:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing activities with organizational objectives.
- Support ad-hoc tasks such as drafting bilingual content, preparing event materials, or updating internal documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in social media
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop effective communication strategies
- Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
- Leadership skills to effectively manage a team
- Performance Marketing Analysis experience is required
Preferred:
- Spoken and written fluency in Arabic and English
Minimum TOIEC score of 800 or equivalent
- Design knowledge on Canva and Adobe
WORK CONDITIONS
• Flexible working during weekends to attend required events
• Flexible to occasional travel outside Cairo
