POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Amideast/Egypt offers educational development programs and operates across Egypt with offices in Cairo and Alexandria. In 2016 Amideast leased and then acquired the current location at 3 Pharanaa street in 2020. The location is a heritage site that dates to the early 20th century when the original structure was built circa 1910. Amideast’s decision to acquire the property has revived the property’ as an educational and cultural hub focused on the exchange and collaboration between the US and Egypt.
The position of the Facility Management Engineer (FME) is critical to maintaining the property and ensuring its upkeep for the continued provision of Amideast services in Alexandria. The FME will apply engineering principles and techniques to maintain and optimize the facility. S/he work includes ensuring proper installations, renovations, and maintenance of the facility, maintain the upkeep of the property and the HVAC system with minimal operational disruption, lead facility improvement projects, and develop a robust facility maintenance plan in accordance with organizational objectives. S/he is also required to ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, and other regulatory requirements in his/her line of work as may be needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience as facilities engineer or in a similar role
- Strong technical background and knowledge of other trades works such as electrical, HVAC, MEP and civil works
- Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office
- Knowledge of the building process and construction principles
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Minimum TOIEC score of 800 or equivalent
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (as needed)

- Telephone
Up to 5% business travel may be needed to support as needed.
